For the chirdren, get rid of child protective services

The Phoenix newspaper had another sad column by Laurie Roberts. I have conversed with her before (not as Mr. AzRepugnant, though.) She is definitely a believer in CPS (Child Protective Services.) You know that all you have to say is that this thing or that thing happened to a child and you will evoke an instinctive reaction of pity , horror or love or concern.
Politicians have become artful in the use of children to help them win elections. Rush Limbaugh parodies the phrase, “for the chirdren.” Because he understood the callous disregard of many politicians for the fallout of the programs they craft, Rush was instrumental in changing the way I look at childrens’ issues. Politicians gain money and votes for selling the concept of fairness in life. I think this method works well because it is the emotional (visceral or earthy) and not the intellectual part of us. Emotion helps us to blur the lines between right and wrong, between what is lawful and illegal. Emotion without thoughtfulness is a bad guide for your life. It is a bad guide for a country to follow, but there you are - the politicians jerk you around with emotion.
Children should never be harmed or maimed or killed, but they are. Everyday children are mistreated. What should people do? They should do something or they must do something. If you do something, how much do you do? My answer is that the state is not adequate to replace the parent. CPS should be eliminated. Free people do not need to act like Communist Russia when children were rewarded for snitching on their neighbors and parents, but we have developed that system in our schools. Children narc on other children for bringing an aspirin to school.
Let’s be sensible. Let’s get rid of government agencies which overreach like Child Protective Services. Let’s fire them, now.
